AccessHR is excited to announce that we are continuing to grow our team, our client base, our geographic reach, and our service offerings. As a result, we are adding two Human Resources
Consultants to our team to support our growth; one based out of the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area and the other based out of the Greater Edmonton Metropolitan Area.
Position Summary
These positions are independent contractor roles assisting clients with ongoing HR Advisory support and HR projects. Exceptional quality and client support are the cornerstones of our services.
These are 100% remote roles with client location visits as required. A driver’s license and means of transportation are essential.
The first role will focus primarily on providing HR Advisory support in long-term client relationships. The second role will focus specifically on projects including strategic, tactical, and
analytical projects.
Key Deliverables
Human Resources Consultant - Advisory
- Exceed client expectations with “above and beyond” delivery outcomes; incorporate tools and resources from the AccessHR library and combine your own expertise and experience. There is nothing
“cookie cutter” about our approach.
- Engage in initial assessments and establish Human Resources advisory plans.
- Develop rapport and trust with clients; demonstrate a high level of responsiveness and expertise.
- Proactively communicate with clients; research and share interesting and useful information on an ongoing basis; be readily available and eager for a “quick question” or to brainstorm
something tricky.
- Provide exceptional Human Resources support guided by an in-depth understanding of legislation and best practices, customized to meet the specific needs of each client.
- Work with the HR Practice team to continually improve our tools, resources, and ability to exceed client expectations. Continuous improvement is the name of our game.
Human Resources Consultant - Projects

- Engage with clients and our Practice Lead in project assessment, scoping, and analysis.
- Project plan and complete all aspects of project delivery, communicating with the client and Practice Lead on a regular basis; demonstrate excellence in managing quality, time, and resources.
- Primary areas of expertise include organization assessment, process review, program creation, strategic planning, and organization design and restructure.

Human Resources Expertise: Exceptional knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and industry trends. Strategic mindset with the ability to align HR initiatives with
business objectives. Outstanding analytical skills to assess HR metrics and develop actionable insights.

Project Management: Experience managing multiple HR projects and working with clients to drive change within an organization. Adaptability to manage diverse HR projects and
evolving priorities. Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Communication: Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Concise and precise correspondence and report writing style is imperative.

Collaboration: Desire to work in a truly creative and collaborative environment without silos; brings a “how can I help” attitude to all colleague and client interactions.

Accountability: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- 10+ years’ experience in business and/or non-profit sectors.
- 5+ years’ experience in HR consulting, HR project management, or related HR functions.
Assets
- Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Human Resources designations including CPHR and/or SHRM highly valued.
- Experience in multiple industries and sectors.
- Experience in customer-centric, business-to-business (B2B) environments, providing simultaneous multi-client support.
- Specialized certifications including project management, data analysis, change management, mediation, workplace investigations, and/or conflict resolution.
- Assessment Certifications including Insights, DiSC, CliftonStrengths, EQ-i, and EQ 360.
- Experience working in a fully remote organization.
Position Requirements
- Driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Personal computer with Office 365, high-speed internet connection, and Zoom license.
- Expertise using video conferencing tools including Zoom and MS Teams.
