Sheri Brake B.Comm, MIR, CPHR

Principal

 

Sheri is an HR Professional, Facilitator, Workplace Investigator, and Policy Expert. She established AccessHR Inc. with the goal of focusing on high quality, ethical and creative human resources services.

 

Sheri has more than 20 years of HR experience, working with public, private and not-for-profit

organizations.  She has developed expertise in workplace investigations, employment legislation and policy, talent management, organization design, strategic planning, and leader development.

 

She is motivated by complex data analysis and policy work and feels most at home with her sleeves rolled up in a creative and fast-paced project.

 

As a lifelong learner, she holds a B.Comm from Dalhousie University,  a Master’s in Industrial Relations from Queen’s University and certificates in Career Coaching, Project Management, Workplace Trust, Workplace Restoration, Professional Coaching and ITIL. She is also a Certified Workplace Investigator and is a designated HR Professional (CPHR).

 

Sheri is the President of the Ugandan Girls Scholarship Foundation, a registered charity that provides scholarships to girls who would otherwise be unable to attend school.

Heather Beck

Heather is a senior Human Resources leader, with over 25 years people leadership experience. She has led organizations, in both Canada and the USA, through the full scope of HR responsibilities in growth and contraction cycles, including acquisitions, divestitures, and integrations. Carey is a Senior Consultant with over 25 years of experience including expertise in workforce planning, program and policy design, system evaluation and documentation.

 

For the past 10 years Carey has consulted on projects with multiple organizations to develop and deliver common sense people solutions. Maureen Farrell

Maureen is an accomplished HR Professional with over 20 years of experience, with expertise in Compensation.  Her work has focused mainly on broad-based compensation including short-term and long-term incentives.  Maureen has experience with compensation programs in three countries – Canada, USA and Mexico.

 

Maureen has concentrated her career on the execution of compensation programs, compensation consulting including benchmarking, job evaluation, as well compensation projects such as allowances and premiums.  In addition, she has project-managed the annual compensation cycle including preparing systems and processes for program rollout and communication, development of recommendations, annual budgets and reports for management and Board of Directors.  Maureen has participated in networking groups to influence the design of industry surveys as well as consulting with industry peers and vendors with respect to compensation practices.

Hilary Murray

Hilary is a human resources consultant with more than 25 years’ experience in a variety of industries, including energy. She provides advice and guidance to business leaders on organization design, compensation, compliance, employee engagement, performance management, and policy implementation.

 

Hilary has also worked internationally implementing HR programs and processes during times of company growth, both organic and through acquisition. Other specialty areas include change management and leader development.

Cheryl Oishi

Cheryl is a senior Human Resources leader with over 25 years of people leadership experience, equally at home in the executive suite or supporting on the frontlines.  Her areas of expertise include strategic HR planning and execution, program development, policy creation and revision, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, termination management, and workplace investigations.  Having worked in healthcare, public education, and the oil & gas sector, Cheryl’s hallmark of success has been her ability to align people, policies, programs, processes, systems and measures to meet the unique needs of each organization. Bruce Randall

Bruce’s unique combination of theoretical and practical knowledge, and work in the law, education and not-for profit sectors means he is uniquely well suited to advise and teach not-for-profit Boards aspects of governance and operations.

 

Most recently Bruce served as founding Executive Director of Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council for 12 years before stepping away to focus on his consulting and personal interests.  His focus at the helm of CRIEC was strategy governance, financial, programmatic, project, outcomes/impacts, research, advocacy, communication and operational oversight, budget oversight and direction and guidance for staff.

 

He now fills his time with hands-on governance, Board training, general advice and corporate secretarial support for Board of Directors and 2 primary Committees. Stacy Sargent

Stacy holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta and a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from the University of Lethbridge. She has almost 20 years of experience providing quality services in public and private healthcare settings and implementing health promotion strategies on both an individual and community level. In addition, she has advanced training in planning, implementing, managing, and evaluating public health policy and programming. 

 

Stacy brings her extensive professional background in support of a diverse array of AccessHR projects. She is well-versed in a range of qualitative and quantitative methods and is dedicated to delivering client-centered, customized services using an ethical lens. Stacy is known for her attention to detail and ability to effectively analyze and distill large amounts of raw project data into accurate, focused, and actionable reports that resonate with their intended audience. 

 

It brings Stacy a high level of satisfaction to be able to provide services that have a direct and positive effect on peoples’ lives. When she is not engaged in HR work, her commitment to the welfare of others has guided her other activities. Alongside a history of volunteering across various organizations, she is currently a part-time dental hygienist with Nation's Dental. This social enterprise mobile dental hygiene clinic serves equity-deserving populations and reduces their barriers to oral health care.

Norm holds a Master of Business Administration from Athabasca University, a GIS Application Specialist Diploma from Sir Sandford Fleming College, and a Forest Technologist Diploma from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
